A huge fire broke out in a furniture warehouse of CV Mury Furniture in Jepara Regency, Central Java. There were no casualties in this incident, but it is estimated that material losses due to the fire that lasted for about five hours reached billions of Rupiah.
"It is estimated that the loss reached Rp 5 billion," said the Head of the Fire Department at the Jepara Regency Satpol PP, Surana, when contacted via text message, Wednesday (25/8/2021).
He explained that the furniture warehouse that caught fire was located in Kecapi Village, Tahunan District. It is known that the furniture warehouse belongs to a local resident named Dimas.
"The Furniture Warehouse is located at Kecapi Village, Tahunan District belonging to Dimas," he explained.
Surana said firefighters received information on the incident at 09.18 WIB. It was explained that the officers then arrived at the location at 09.26 WIB.
According to him, during the extinguishing process, five fire engines were needed. The fire was completely extinguished around 14.00 WIB.
"There are three extinguishers and two tank units, one tank unit from the Kalinyamatan post," explained Surana.
"Finished the blackout at around 2:45 pm," he continued.
Surana suspected that the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit. This caused a fire and burned the furniture warehouse.
"The source of the fire was an electric short circuit," he explained.
He added that there were no casualties in the incident. However, material losses are estimated at Rp 5 billion.
"There were no casualties, material losses reached Rp 5 billion," he concluded.
Founded in 2011, Mury Furniture is especial wooden- furniture factory which is located in Jepara (a city where many talented workers with the best craftsmanship lived). It is about 74km from the nearest port i.e. Tanjung Mas or around 1.5- 2 hours driving from the nearest airport i.e. Ahmad Yani which both located in Semarang; the capital city of Central Java, Indonesia.
