40 Furniture Entrepreneurs from the City of Carvings Participate in the IFEX 2026

Jakarta - If you thought the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) was just about rows of chairs and tables, you need to take a closer look at what's happening at ICE BSD City this week. Held from March 5-8, 2026, IFEX is transforming into an "acceleration" stage for the national craft and product design sub-sector looking to reach the global level.

Full support comes from the Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf). Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya, who attended the opening, called this event more than just a trade transaction, but also a demonstration of Indonesia's creative ecosystem.

One of this year's unique attractions is the RaRe Project (Rattan Refreshed & Regeneration) in Hallway Hall 5. This project is no ordinary rattan exhibition; it's the result of a marriage of ideas between visionary product designers and the rattan manufacturing industry. The result? Products that look very modern while still conveying a sense of tradition and sustainability.

"We want to ensure that our industry players are not only skilled in production, but also excel in design and global marketing strategies," emphasized Minister Teuku Riefky while touring the booths.

The Ministry of Creative Economy also brought six selected local craft brands to the 75-meter-wide "Creative House" in Hall 10, featuring collections from Abbacraft, Craftote, El Art, Lumosh Living, Manamu, and Passion of Art Indonesia (POAI).

These six brands are not simply displaying products; they represent the new face of Indonesian furniture, emphasizing aesthetics, high functionality, and a strong commitment to environmentally friendly materials.

Given the success of IFEX 2025, which secured potential transactions of USD 350 million with 500 exhibitors, expectations this year are certainly higher. With buyers from Europe, the United States, and even China in attendance, IFEX 2026 is positioned as a solution to strengthen Indonesia's position as a major global furniture player.

Legendary booths like Kriya Nusantara and the Jepara Pavilion also impressed, proving that Indonesian wood and rattan can speak volumes to international importers.

For design inspiration seekers or business owners eager to see the future of Indonesia's creative economy, IFEX 2026 is the place to be. The synergy between HIMKI and Dyandra Promosindo demonstrates that local creativity is a never-ending export commodity.

The HIMKI Jepara Raya exhibitor stand in Pavilion Hall 7 No. 3 at the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2026, held from March 5–8, 2026, at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday (March 7, 2026), received a visit from the Regent of Jepara, Witiarso Utomo, along with several relevant regional government officials.

The Chairman of the Jepara Raya branch of the Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI), Hidayat Hendra Sasmita, accompanied by the Jepara Raya HIMKI board, welcomed the arrival of the president to Jepara Regency. Regent Witiarso Utomo, familiarly known as Mas Wiwit, was seen inspecting a number of furniture and craft products exhibited by Jepara industry players.

The Jepara Regent's visit was a direct form of support for Jepara furniture and craft entrepreneurs participating in the international exhibition, with the support of facilities provided by the Jepara Regency Government.

During his tenure as Regent of Jepara, Mas Wiwit has collaborated with HIMKI Jepara Raya on several programs aimed at advancing the furniture industry while preserving Jepara's unique carving art.

On this occasion, Witiarso Utomo expressed his hope that Jepara furniture entrepreneurs would continue to innovate and be creative, producing high-quality products that are highly competitive in the export market. He added that the local government is ready to assist in facilitating various activities carried out by HIMKI Jepara Raya, which are oriented towards the advancement of the furniture business, so that the Jepara furniture industry can once again thrive.

Meanwhile, one exhibitor stated that 20 exhibitors from the Jepara Raya Association of Indonesian Furniture Association (HIMKI) received a subsidy from the Jepara Regency Government in the form of a 400-square-meter exhibition space for IFEX 2026.

The 20 small and medium-sized furniture industries (SMEs) participating in the exhibition were selected through a rigorous selection process. The selection process encompassed various aspects, from business legality and the availability of production warehouses to product quality, which was assessed as meeting export and international standards.
